POMONA COLLEGE Job Openings 2020 – JOB POSITION SUMMARY at Claremont: Pomona College is seeking a Director for the Center of Global Engagement. The Center for Global Engagement is formally known as the Oldenborg Center for Modern Languages and International Relations. The Center for Global Engagement is the hub for global and international programming at Pomona College. It includes the Language Immersion Residence Hall, a Dining Hall devoted to language immersion (featuring language tables in about 25 languages/week), and an event space that hosts guest speakers and other cultural events. The Center for Global Engagement houses International Student and Scholar Services, which manage the College’s visa programs. The Center also organizes a number of curricular and other programs to promote the teaching and learning of languages and global studies: the language resident program, for-credit language conversation classes, the Foreign Language Resource Center (FLRC), summer research and travel grants. Students, staff and faculty from across The Claremont Colleges engage with these programs, as do residents of Claremont and neighboring communities. The Center for Global Engagement coordinates closely with the Office of Study Abroad, which has a separate Director.

QUALIFICATIONS POMONA COLLEGE Job Openings

• M.A. or Ph.D. in field related to international education is preferred.
• A valid Class C driver’s license is required.
• Experience indicative of director-level administrative ability is required, preferably in international education.  Experience in visa compliance and regulatory work (F and/or J) strongly preferred. Experience combining international education administration with foreign language training and teaching desired.

ADDITIONAL POSITION DETAILS

 Regular Staff position, full-time, Exempt position.  Starting pay rate: 6,876.41. Applications will be reviewed starting July 01, 2020 until the position is filled.

REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.  Holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required.  Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or Division.
