Mumbai University PET Exam Notification: Centre Based Test (CBT) Online PET 2024 (Ph.D. Entrance Test) is scheduled for Ph.D. admissions in various subjects. Eligibility & Exemption – No. Exam./Thesis/Univ/VCD/947 of 2018 dtd. 15th June, 2018 (www.mu.ac.in)
Fees: Payment will be accepted through Online mode only.
(A) for General Category Rs. 1,000/-
(B) for Reserved Category (SC/ST/VJNT/SBC/OBC/EWS/PH) – Rs. 500/-
Subjects: Annexure I Syllabus Master’s Degree Level defined in respective subject. (Annexure II)
General:
1. The candidate can fill online application form of the Entrance Test (PET-2024) for admission to Ph.D. Programme from the link available on University website strictly as per the schedule given above. No offline forms will be accepted.
2. Every candidate is to ensure that he/she is eligible in all respect as per the eligibility conditions as mentioned in Annexure-I. Any wrong information / misinformation submitted will lead to cancellation of PET result and/or PhD. Admission.
3. The candidate shall retain the print out of application form for future reference. Any request from the candidates thereafter will not be entertained.
4. The online link for submitting PET application will be closed at midnight of 31st October, 2024. No request will be entertained thereafter.
5. Fees once paid will not be refunded in any case.
6. The exact date and time of online entrance test will be announced in due course. Hall Ticket will be issued online in due course before the exam. Result will be declared online on a stipulated date after examination. Candidates appearing for the Final Year / Semester of the Master’s Degree Programme, as the case may be, of the concerned subject shall be allowed to appear for the CBT online PET 2024. However, the results of PET-2024 of such candidates shall be valid only if they become otherwise eligible for admission to a Ph.D. Programme.
7. (i) Question paper of each subject will be of 100 marks. (ii) Question paper of each subject will be of two sections. (iii) Section I of each subject question paper will be of Research Methodology component comprising of 50 questions of total 50 marks with one mark for each question. (iv) Section II of each subject question paper will be of Subject Specific component. comprising of 50 questions of total 50 marks with one mark for each question. (v) Each question will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) with four options. (vi) Each question will have only one option as a clear correct answer. (vii) There will be No Negative marks for wrong answers. (viii) The exam duration will be of two hours and will be held in single time slot.
8. Candidates are advised to refer the University website www.mu.ac.in regularly for all types of information and updates. No personal communication will be sent to candidates.
9. PET will be an eligibility condition to apply for an admission to a Ph.D. Programme. However, it shall not ensure such an admission for Ph.D.
10. Revaluation and Photocopy and Grievance facility for PET is not allowed and request for the same will not be accepted.
11. Validity of the PET result will be of One Year from the date of declaration of result.
12. The candidate should apply and appear for the subject in PET in the subject either in which he / she has obtained Master’s Degree or in the subject in which he/she intends to pursue Ph.D.
