Marriage Registration Portal available now to do the marriage registration directly online. The Department of Registration and Stamps has decided to make marriage registration online at home. At present, for the registration of marriage, the bride and groom have to go directly to the marriage officer for two reasons, namely giving notice and then getting married. Now the first of these is the process of giving notice online. The secondary registrar at each district headquarters has been declared the marriage officer. There are independent marriage officers for the districts of Mumbai, Mumbai Suburbs, Pune. The department has computerized the special marriage registration process just like the diarrhea registration. The website of the Registration and Stamp Department has made it easy for the parties to enter their data in their own way so that they do not waste time or make mistakes in entering the required information into the computer after the marriage officer comes to the office.

Eligibility Criteria to Apply Marriage Certificate

1. The groom or the bride should be a permanent resident of India for obtaining the marriage certificate in Maharashtra.
2. At the time of the marriage, the concerned party should have a living spouse.
3. The groom must have attained the age of 21,
4. The bride must be the age of 18.

Benefits of Marriage Certificate

1. A marriage certificate proves that marriage has occurred and can be used as an official record.
2. It assures the minimum age for marriage to restrict child marriages.
3. This certificate permits widows to claim the inheritance.
4. It can also be used to check bigamy or polygamy.

Required Documents to apply for Marriage Certificate

2. Affidavit of the couple is needed in which the place of marriage occurred including the details of marriage date, marital status and nationality.
3. Passport size photo and photograph of a marriage invitation card, if any.
4. Residency proof of the Applicant
5. Birth certificate of the groom (Age Proof)
6. Birth certificate of the bride (Age Proof)
7. If marriage happens at a religious place, then the declaration by the priest.
8. For divorced people, the order of divorce and verified copy of the death certificate requires in case of a widower/widow.

How to apply for Online Marriage Registration

The party should apply to the office of the Inspector General of Registration under whose jurisdiction the marriage occurred or where the spouses had stayed for at least six months before the wedding. To register, any one of the following places should come under the jurisdiction of the Registering Officer:

• Residence of the bridegroom.
• Residence of the bride.
• Solemnization place.

In India, a marriage registration occurs under either the Special Marriage Act or Hindu Marriage Act. The Special Marriage Act applies to all citizens of India irrespective of their religion, whereas the Hindu Marriage Act applies only to Hindus. The Special Marriage Act provides for the solemnization of a marriage as well as registration by a marriage officer.

However, the Hindu Marriage Act provides for registration of an already solemnized marriage and does not fit for solemnization of a marriage by a Marriage Registrar.

महाराष्ट्र विवाह मंडळाचे विनियम आणि विवाह नोंदणी अधिनियम १९९८ अन्वये विवाह नोंदणी करीता आवश्यक यादी.

1. विवाहाच्या वेळी वराचे वय २१ वर्ष व वधुचे वय १८ वर्ष पूर्ण असावे. तसेच सर्व कागदपत्र फाईलमध्ये देणे.
2. विवित नमुन्यात अर्ज (विज्ञप्ती फॉर्म ) मराठी व इंग्रजी दोन्ही ही भाषेत भरुन घ्यावा.
3. वधू / वर यापैकी कोणीही एक पनवेल शहर महानगरपालिका हद्दीतील कायम रहिवासी असावा.
4. विज्ञप्ती फार्मवर रक्कम रु.१००/- चे कोर्ट फी स्टॅम्प लावणे आवश्यक आहे.
5. विवित नमूना अर्जावर (विज्ञप्ती फार्मवर) पुरोहिताचे नाव, पत्ता व स्वाक्षरी असावी. तसेच वर वधू व तीन साक्षीदार यांच्या सह्या घेणे आवश्यक आहे. साक्षीदार शक्यतो वर वधुचे नातेवाईक असावेत.
6. वर-वधू यांच्या जन्माचा दाखला / शाळासोडल्याचा दाखला याची प्रमाणित (ॲटेस्टेड) प्रत सादर करावी.
7. आंतरजातीय विवाहबाबत धर्मातरांबाबतचा दाखला किंवा १०० रु. चे स्टॅम्प वर ॲफिडेव्हिट करणे आवश्यक आहे.
8. वर-वधू व तीन साक्षीदार यांचे प्रत्येक १ फोटो विज्ञप्ती फॉर्मवर लावणे आवश्यक आहे.
9. विवाह महाराष्ट्र राज्यात संपन्न झालेला असावा. एक वर्षाचा पुढे असेल तर १०० रु चे स्टॅम्प पेपर वर ॲफिडेव्हिट करणे.प्रमाणपत्र देणेचे वेळी वर , वधू व ३ साक्षीदार समक्ष हजर असणे आवश्यक आहे.
10. घटस्पोट असेल तर (डीकरी व जेजमेंट लावणे) तसेच वर वधू यांचे वैयक्तीक ॲफिडेव्हिट करणे आवश्यक आहे.
11. विधुर / विधवा असेल तर (मृत्यु झालेला व्यक्तीचा दाखला जोडणे) तसेच वर-वधू यांचे वैयक्तीक ॲफिडेव्हिट करणे आवश्यक आहे.
