उपलब्ध सुविधा

या योजनेंतर्गत गर्भवती महिलांना अनेक सुविधा मिळतात, ज्यामध्ये पहिली सुविधा म्हणजे गर्भवती महिला प्रत्येक महिन्याच्या 9 तारखेला त्यांच्या जवळच्या आरोग्य केंद्रात जाऊन प्रसूती होईपर्यंत मोफत तपासणी आणि उपचार घेऊ शकतात. गरोदर महिलांची रक्त तपासणी, हिमोग्लोबिन, लघवी तपासणी आणि अल्ट्रासाऊंड यांसारख्या गोष्टी येथून करता येतात. सर्वात महत्त्वाची बाब म्हणजे या सर्व चाचण्या योजनेअंतर्गत मोफत केल्या जातात.

Overview of Pradhan Mantri Sakher Matrutva Abhiyan (PMSMA)

A new health scheme Pradhan Mantri Sakher Matrutva Abhiyan (PMSMA) has been launched on 9th June for pregnant women. Maternal and infant mortality rates can be reduced with the help of this health scheme. According to the report of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, under the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) 5, the maternal mortality rate in India in 1990 was 560 per one lakh ( 140 per 1,00,000 in 2015 while bringing down MMR). According to UNICEF, more than 55,000 pregnant women die during childbirth. It can be prevented by regular medical follow-up and check-ups. It is a matter of priority with the concern of the government. This is confirmed through some schemes launched by the central government to meet the needs of pregnant women.
Target beneficiaries of the campaign

This program targets all pregnant women who are in the 2nd and 3rd trimester of pregnancy. Under the PMSMA scheme, all government hospitals and health centers will provide free medical check-up to all pregnant women on the 9th of every month.

The objective of Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Matrutva Yojana

Generally, when a woman is pregnant she suffers from various types of diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes and hormonal diseases. Under this scheme, an attempt is made to give birth to a healthy baby along with providing good health and independent check-up for pregnant women.

  1. A healthy life will be provided for pregnant women.
  2. Maternal mortality rate will be reduced.
  3. Pregnant women will be made aware about their health issues/diseases.
  4. A healthy life and safe delivery of the child will be ensured.

Salient Features of Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Matrutva Yojana

  • This scheme is applicable only for pregnant women.
  • A free health check-up will be conducted on the 9th of every month.
  • All types of medical check-ups under this scheme are completely free.
  • The tests will be conducted at medical centres, government and private hospitals and private clinics across the country.
  • Women will be marked separately based on their health problems so that doctors can easily diagnose the problem.
  • The Government of India has decided to provide all types of medical care to pregnant women free of charge under this scheme.

Eligibility for Pradhan Mantri Safe Motherhood Campaign

  • This scheme is applicable only for pregnant women.
  • The scheme is for women who are not from urban areas or semi-urban areas.
  • Expectant mothers from rural areas will be encouraged to avail this free health care benefit.
  • Women in the 3rd to 6th month of pregnancy will be eligible to avail the benefits of this Pradhan Mantri Safer Matrutva Abhiyan (PMSMA).

Services available under the PMSMA programme

  • There will be a separate register for registration of beneficiaries coming for facilities and services under Pradhan Mantri Safer Matrutva Abhiyan (PMSMA).
  • After registration, the ANM and SN ensure that all basic laboratory tests are done before the beneficiary is examined by the female specialist/medical officer. The examination report should be submitted to the doctors one hour before the meeting time of the beneficiaries. This test will ensure identification of high risk conditions (anemia, gestational diabetes, hypertension, infections etc.) and appropriate consultation possible.
  • In certain circumstances, where additional screening is required, beneficiaries are advised to screen and share the report during the next ANC screening or routine check-up under the Pradhan Mantri Safer Matritva Abhiyan.
  • Lab tests – USG, and all basic tests – Hb, Urine Albumin, RBS (Dip Stick), Rapid Malaria Test, Rapid VDRL Test, Blood Group, CBC ESR, USG etc.

The following specific services will be provided under the Pradhan Mantri Sakher Matrutva Abhiyan (PMSMA) are as follows –

  • A comprehensive history should be taken of all beneficiaries and examination and evaluation should be done to detect any danger signs, complications or any high risk conditions.
  • Blood pressure, abdominal examination and fetal heart sounds should be checked per beneficiary during ANC examination.
  • If a woman visiting a public health facility requires any specific test, the sample should be taken for testing and taken to the appropriate center for testing. ANM/MPW should jointly be responsible for sending the sample for testing and communicating the results to the pregnant women and for necessary follow-up.
  • Under Pradhan Mantri Safer Matrutva Abhiyaan (PMSMA) after examination by ANM/Staff Nurse all incoming beneficiaries should also be examined by Medical Officer.
  • All identified high risk pregnant women are to be referred to higher facilities and JSSK (Janani Shishu Suraksha Programa) help desks are established to provide these facilities.
