असंगठित क्षेत्र के श्रमिकों देश में कुल कार्य बल का लगभग 93% का गठन। सरकार कुछ व्यावसायिक समूहों के लिए कुछ सामाजिक सुरक्षा उपायों को लागू किया गया है, लेकिन कवरेज miniscule है। श्रमिकों के बहुमत किसी भी सामाजिक सुरक्षा कवरेज के बिना भी कर रहे हैं। इन श्रमिकों को सामाजिक सुरक्षा प्रदान करने के लिए की आवश्यकता को स्वीकार करते हुए केन्द्र सरकार ने संसद में एक विधेयक पेश किया है।

1. The members should be aged between 18 years completed and 59 years nearer birthday.
2. The member should normally be the head of the family or one earning member of the below poverty line family (BPL) or marginally above the poverty line under identified vocational group/rural landless household.

Under this Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana, in case of the following incidents, the amount is paid to the beneficiary’s heir / beneficiary.

• Natural Death – Rs. 30,000 / –
• Accidental Death – Rs.75,000 / –
• Permanent disability due to accident – Rs.75,000 / –
• Loss of both eyes or both legs due to accident – Rs.75,000 / –
• Loss of one eye or one leg due to accident – Rs.37,500 / –
• Under this scheme, Rs.100 / – per month per student is given to two beneficiaries studying in class IX to XII.

6	दिल्या जाणा-या लाभाचे स्वरुप	या योजनेंतर्गत खालीलप्रमाणे घटना घडल्यास लाभार्थ्यांच्या वारसास / लाभार्थ्यास रक्कम देण्यात येते. नैसर्गिक मृत्यू – रु. 30,000/- अपघाती मृत्यू – रु.75, 000/- अपघातामुळे कायमचे अपंग – रु.75, 000/- अपघातामुळे दोन्ही डोळे वा दोन्ही पाय गमावल्यास – रु.75, 000/- अपघातामुळे एक डोळा वा एक पाय गमावल्यास – रु.37, 500/- या योजनेंतर्गत लाभार्थ्याच्या नववी ते बारावी इयत्तेत शिकणाऱ्या दोन मुलांना रु.100/- प्रतिमहा प्रति विद्यार्थी शिष्यवृत्ती देण्यात येते.

The workers in the unorganized sector constitute about 93% of the total work force in the country. The Government has been implementing some social security measures for certain occupational groups but the coverage is miniscule. Majority of the workers are still without any social security coverage. Recognizing the need for providing social security to these workers, the Central Government has introduced a Bill in the Parliament.

Despite the expansion in the health facilities, illness remains one of the most prevalent causes of human deprivation in India. It has been clearly recognized that health insurance is one way of providing protection to poor households against the risk of health spending leading to poverty. However, most efforts to provide health insurance in the past have faced difficulties in both design and implementation. The poor are unable or unwilling to take up health insurance because of its cost, or lack of perceived benefits. Organizing and administering health insurance, especially in rural areas, is also difficult.
