  1. Effective January 1, 2025, private sector employers and individuals hiring domestic workers must furnish health insurance coverage for their registered employees upon the issuance or renewal of residency permits.

  2. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) will take on a pivotal role in raising awareness among stakeholders through comprehensive awareness campaigns regarding this mandatory health insurance requirement.
  3. The Cabinet has approved the establishment of the “Coordinating Council for the Labor Market” in the UAE, chaired by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).
  4. This council will be responsible for overseeing the examination of legislation, strategies, and initiatives pertaining to private sector companies and their workforce to ensure the seamless integration of federal and local regulations concerning the labor market across the nation.
