Post Savings Account Rules changes –<\/strong> Going beyond letters and parcels, post accounts also provide many banking services. Many people have savings accounts in the post office. The central government has changed some rules related to post office savings account. Let’s find out.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Third partners in a joint account –<\/strong> So far only two people could be partners in a Post Office Joint Savings Account. But now as per the new rules three partners can also open a joint account together.<\/li>\n
  2. Withdrawal rule changed –<\/strong> The government has also changed the rules for withdrawing money from post office savings accounts. Now people will have to fill ‘Form-3’ instead of ‘Form-2’ to withdraw money from their account and it will be mandatory to show the passbook at the counter if the withdrawal amount is not less than Rs 50.<\/li>\n
  3. Interest rules on account deposits –<\/strong> As per the new rules relating to Post Office Savings Account, interest will be paid at the rate of four per cent per annum on the lowest amount in the account from the tenth day to the end of the month. After calculating this interest will be credited to the account at the end of every year. At the same time, if the account holder dies, interest is paid to his account only at the end of the month in which the account is closed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
