Saubhagya scheme is one of the world\u2019s biggest Universal electrification initiative with collaborative and concerted efforts of Centre and States. It is a concurrent program to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana\u2019 (<a href=\"https:\/\/mahabharti.in\/yojana\/deen-dayal-upadhyaya-grameen-kaushalya-yojana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DDUGJY<\/a>). Official website for <a href=\"https:\/\/mahabharti.in\/yojana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Saubhagya Scheme<\/a> is https:\/\/saubhagya.gov.in\/. Under the saubhagya yojana the electricity connection to households include release of electricity connections by drawing a service cable from the nearest pole to the household premise, installation of energy meter, wiring for a single light point with LED bulb and a mobile charging point. In case the electricity pole is not available nearby from household for drawing service cable, the erection of additional pole along with conductor and associated accessories shall also be covered Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Free metered connection for economically poor households and a charge of Rs. 500 (adjusted in electricity bills in 10 monthly instalments) for households other than poor, only after release of connection.<\/li>\n<li>Establishing camps in villages\/ cluster of villages for on spot registration<\/li>\n<li>Use of Mobile App for identification of beneficiaries and electronic registration including requisite documentation<\/li>\n<li>Web based near real-time monitoring and updating of progress<\/li>\n<li>SPV based standalone systems for households located in remote\/ difficult areas<\/li>\n<li>Communication plan for creating awareness about the scheme and its benefits<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility to States in mode of implementation (Departmental\/ Turnkey\/ Semi-turnkey)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_SAUBHAGYA_scheme_aims_at_providing\"><\/span>The SAUBHAGYA scheme aims at providing:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">a) Last mile connectivity and electricity connection to all un-electrified households in rural areas;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">b) Last mile connectivity and electricity connection to all remaining economically poor un electrified households in urban areas. Non-poor urban households are excluded from this scheme;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">c) Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) based standalone system for un-electrified households located in remote and inaccessible villages\/habitations, where grid extension is not feasible or cost effective.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The scheme outlay is \u20b916,320 crore, including Gross Budgetary Support of \u20b912,320 crore. REC is the Nodal Agency for operationalization of the scheme.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under the scheme, \u20b914,109 crore (including grant of \u20b99,093 crore) has been sanctioned by the Ministry of Power to 26 States\/Union Territories, against which \u20b98,840.9 Cr (incl. grant of \u20b95,408.44Crorehas been released till June 30, 2021.As at 31st March 2019, country achieved electrification of 262.84 lakh households under Saubhagya (except a miniscule number of 18374 households in LWE areas of Chhattisgarh). \u2013 a remarkable progress made in a record 18 months.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The achievement of Universal household electrification, which implies 100% access to electricity has been certified by the Chief Secretaries of States.
