MKSP : Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana Scheme – This scheme has been run by the Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development under the National Farmer Policy for those women, who are women farmers. For this scheme, 60% of the funds are given to the states by the central government, 90% percent is given to the states of the Northeast. Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Yojana is a sub-component scheme of DAY-NRLM, an ambitious scheme run by the Central Government. Which is to increase the participation of women in the agriculture sector by the government and provide them sources of income. This scheme has been started on the lines of National Farmers Policy 2007.

कृषि और किसान कल्याण मंत्रालय की विभिन्न किसान हितेषी योजनाओं के दिशानिर्देश में स्पष्ट लिखा है कि राज्यों और अन्य कार्यान्वयन एजेंसियों को महिला किसानों पर कम से कम 30% खर्च करना जरूरी है। इन योजनाओं में राष्ट्रीय खाद्य सुरक्षा मिशन, तिलहन और तेल पाम पर राष्ट्रीय मिशन, सतत कृषि पर राष्ट्रीय मिशन, बीज और रोपण सामग्री के लिए उप-मिशन, कृषि मशीनीकरण पर उप-मिशन और एकीकृत मिशन आदि शामिल हैं।

ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय के अंतर्गत ग्रामीण विकास विभाग ने दीनदयाल अंत्योदय योजना – राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण आजीविका मिशन के उप घटक के रूप में ‘महिला किसान सशक्तिकरण परियोजना (MKSP)’ नामक एक योजना शुरू की। यह योजना 2011 से महिलाओं को उनकी भागीदारी और उत्पादकता बढ़ाने के लिए व्यवस्थित निवेश के माध्यम से सशक्त बनाना है। साथ ही इस योजना के माध्यम से ग्रामीण महिलाओं के लिए स्थायी आजीविका का निर्माण भी किया जा रहा है। परियोजना का कार्यान्वयन एजेंसियों द्वारा राज्य ग्रामीण आजीविका मिशन (एसआरएलएम) के माध्यम से परियोजना मोड में लागू किया गया है।

The primary objective of the MKSP is to empower women in agricultureby making systematic investments to enhance their participation and productivity, as also create and sustain agriculture based livelihoods of rural women. By establishing efficient local resource based agriculture, wherein women in agriculture gain more control over the production resources and manage the support systems, the project seeks to enable them to gain better access to the inputs and services provided by the government and other agencies. Once the production capacities of women in agriculture improve, food security ensues for their families and communities.

Specific objectives of MKSP Scheme

3. To improve the skills and capabilities of women in agriculture to support farm and non-farm-based activities;
4. To ensure food and nutrition security at the household and the community level;
