What is Life Certificate? Jeevan Pramaan Certificate is known as Life Certificate/Digital Life Certificate also. The Government of India has launched “Jeevan Pramaan” an “Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate” for pensioners on 10th November, 2014. This initiative is in addition to the existing system of physical submission of Life Certificate by pensioners at the pension disbursing branches or any branch of the Bank at his convenience. Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric enabled digital service for pensioners. Pensioners of Central Government, State Government or any other Government organization can take benefit of this facility.

केंद्र सरकारने पेन्शन देणाऱ्या सर्व बँकांना महत्त्वाचे निर्देश दिले आहेत. अंथरुणाला खिळून असलेल्या किंवा रुग्णालयात भरती असलेल्या पेन्शन धारकांचं लाईफ सर्टिफिकेट आता बँक कर्मचारी स्वतः जाऊन कलेक्ट करणार आहेत. यामुळे लाखो नागरिकांना दिलासा मिळणार आहे. केंद्राच्या पेन्शन आणि पेन्शन धारक कल्याण विभागाने (DOPPW) याबाबतचा आदेश दिला आहे. 80 वर्षांपेक्षा अधिक वय असणाऱ्या सुपर-सीनियर पेन्शनर्सना डिजिटल माध्यमातून लाईफ सर्टिफिकेट बनवण्यास मदत करावी, तसंच याबाबत जागरुकता निर्माण करावी असंही बँकांना सांगण्यात आलं आहे.

काय असतं लाईफ सर्टिफिकेट?

• पेन्शन मिळवणाऱ्या व्यक्तीला दर वर्षी आपण जिवंत असल्याचा पुरावा बँकेला द्यावा लागतो. यासाठी हयातीचा दाखला, म्हणजेच लाईफ सर्टिफिकेट बँकेत जमा करावं लागतं. हा दाखला जमा केला नाही, तर त्या व्यक्तीची पेन्शन बंद होऊ शकते.
• कित्येक वयोवृद्ध व्यक्ती हे विविध प्रकारच्या आजारांमुळे अंथरुणाला खिळून असतात. तर कित्येक रुग्णालयांमध्ये भरती असतात. अशा वेळी त्यांचा हयातीचा दाखला बँकेत जाऊन भरणं त्यांना शक्य होत नाही. त्यामुळे अशा नागरिकांना सरकारच्या या निर्णयाचा फायदा होणार आहे. सध्या केंद्र सरकारकडून सुमारे 69.76 लाख लोक पेन्शन घेतात.

घरुनही करता येईल जमा

• DOPPW विभागाने दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, आता पेन्शन धारक घरबसल्या देखील डिजिटल लाईफ सर्टिफिकेट जमा करू शकणार आहे. यासाठी फेस डिटेक्शन टेक्नॉलॉजीचा वापर करण्यात येईल. यामुळे स्मार्टफोनच्या मदतीने देखील डिजिटल हयातीचा दाखला भरता येऊ शकेल.
• केंद्राच्या 2019 साली दिलेल्या आदेशानुसार, 80 वर्षांपेक्षा जास्त वय असणारे सुपर सीनियर हे ऑक्टोबर महिन्यापासून आपला हयातीचा दाखला जमा करू शकतात. तर, त्याहून कमी वयाचे व्यक्ती नोव्हेंबर महिन्यापासून आपलं लाईफ सर्टिफिकेट जमा करू शकतील.
• त्यामुळे आता कदाचित बँका ऑक्टोबर महिन्यापासून सुपर-सीनियर पेन्शनर्सचा हयातीचा दाखला कलेक्ट करण्यासाठी ऑक्टोबर महिन्यापासून मोहीम राबवू शकतात.

How to get Jeevan Pramaan Certificate

1. Pensioner can visit a nearby CSC center, Bank Branch or any Government office whose details are provided under “locate center” on jeevanpramaan.gov.in and bio-metrically authenticate his / her life certificate in real time by giving his/her Aadhaar number and other pension details related to their pension bank account.
2. After successful submission of digital life certificate, pensioner will get a sms on his/her mobile giving the transaction id. Pensioner will be able to download computer generated life certificate from jeevanpramaan.gov.in using this transaction id for their records.
3. You can register online with the help of this portal and provide your details to get a digital life certificate. Pensioner can find detailed information about this service and locate nearest location of a Jeevan Pramaan Centre. Users can also download mobile apps and avail benefits under this service.

1. It is very difficult for senior citizens and other retired employees to visit the bank every year and submit a life certificate in person.
2. The Government of India has made provision for such pensioners to generate the digital life certificate using Aadhaar-based biometric authentication by visiting the Jeevan Pramaan portal or downloading the Jeevan Pramaan app on their smartphones.

2. He/she should be a retired government employee (Central Government, State Government or other Government Institutions)
3. He/she should have a valid Aadhaar Card number
4. The Aadhaar number should be registered with the Pension Distributing Agency

How to Avail Jeevan Pramaan Facilities Online

Jeevan Pramaan facilities can be availed online through the Jeevan Pramaan website or the mobile application. The user has to download the application for Windows/Mac/Android and install it to his/her device. A biometric device has to be attached to the device (PC/smartphone/tablet) to avail Jeevan Pramaan services.

Online Registration Process of Jeevan Pramaan Certificate

1. First download the Jeevan Pramaan app in your device.
2. After that Select the option for new registration click on it.
3. Enter the required details such as Aadhaar number, Pension Payment Order, Bank Account, Bank name and your mobile number
4. Click on send OTP to generate an OTP and send it to the mentioned mobile number
5. Enter this OTP to proceed ahead
6. Authenticate your details through biometric verification (fingerprint or iris scan) using Aadhaar
7. Once you click on submit, your details will be validated by UIDAI and a Pramaan ID will be generated against your details after successful registration
8. You can use this Pramaan ID to login to your Jeevan Pramaan account.

How to Generate Jeevan Pramaan Certificate/ID

Jeevan Pramaan can be generated online through the app. Follow the steps given below:

1. First Login to your Jeevan Pramaan app by entering your Pramaan ID and OTP
2. Select the Generate Jeevan Pramaan option
3. Enter the Aadhaar number and mobile number and click on Generate OTP
4. An OTP is sent to the mobile number.
5. Enter the OTP in the space provided
6. Enter details such as –
   • Pensioner Name
   • PPO Number
   • Type of pension
   • Name of Sanctioning Authority
   • Name of Disbursing Agency
   • Name of Agency
   • Email Id
   • Select Remarried options
   • Select Re-Employed Options
7. Select the no objection option and scan your fingerprint/iris
8. The biometric input is authenticated using the Aadhaar data
9. The Jeevan Pramaan is displayed on the screen after successful authentication
10. A confirmation message is sent to the pensioner’s mobile number containing the Jeevan Pramaan Certificate ID

Digital Life Certificate Download

Once a Digital Life Certificate (DLC) is generated, it is stored in the Life Certificate Repository. A pensioner can download the Jeevan Pramaan certificate through the app or by visiting the website.
