ESIC Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana Online Apply Link and complete details of this scheme are given in this article. This scheme is a welfare measure for employees covered under Section 2(9) of ESI Act, 1948, in the form of relief payment upto 90 days, once in a lifetime. The Scheme was introduced w.e.f. 01-07-2018 on pilot basis for a period of two years initially. The Scheme provide relief to the insured people who have become unemployed. However to provide benefits to those insured people who have become unemployed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the scheme was extended for another year, from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021. In October 2021, the scheme was extended till June 30, 2022.

Benefits under ESIC ABVKY Scheme

1. The rate of relief under the extended ABVKY scheme has been enhanced and the eligibility conditions have been relaxed as listed for the IPs who became unemployed from 24.03.2020 onwards.
2. The rate of relief has been doubled from 25 per cent to 50 per cent average per day earning of employee.
3. The Insured Person should have been in insurable employment for a minimum period of two years immediately before his/ her unemployment and should have contributed for not less than 78 days in the contribution period immediately preceding the unemployment and minimum 78 days in one of the remaining three contribution periods in two years prior to unemployment. Earlier this condition was a minimum contribution of 78 days in four contribution periods prior to unemployment with minimum two years insurable employment.
4. Claim shall become due 30 days after date of unemployment. Earlier this period was 90 days.
5. The claim of the IP need not be forwarded by the employer. The claim may be submitted by an IP in the prescribed claim form duly completed online or directly to the branch office.

Eligibility for Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana (ABVKY)

1. It has also been decided to enhance the rate of unemployment relief under the scheme to 50% of wages from earlier rate of 25% along with relaxation in eligibility conditions, provided the Insured Person should have been in insurable employment for a minimum period of two years immediately before her/his unemployment and should have contributed for not less than 78 days in the contribution period immediately preceding to unemployment and minimum 78 days in one of the remaining three contribution periods in two years prior to unemployment.
2. In a significant relaxation, relief shall become due for payment after 30 days from date of unemployment and claim can be submitted directly to the designated ESIC Branch Office by the worker.
3. The enhanced benefit and relaxed conditions are applicable during the period 24th March 2020 to 31st December 2020.
4. Claims to get the relief can be made online at website www.esic.in along with submission of the physical claim with an affidavit, photocopy of Aadhaar Card and Bank Account details to the designated ESIC Branch Office by post or in person.
5. Only people with a monthly salary of less than Rs 21,000 can avail of this scheme.

Required Documents to apply ESIC ABVKY

1. One must submit the claim with an affidavit,
2. a photocopy of the Aadhaar card,
3. details of the bank account at any ESIC Branch Office.
4. The payment will be directly credited to the bank account of the insured person.

How to apply Online claim udner ESIC ABVKY

1. First visit the website-www.esic.in.
2. The claim for relief under ABVKY may be submitted by the claimant anytime after being rendered unemployed, but not later than one year from the date of unemployment to the appropriate branch office in form of an affidavit in the prescribed Form (AB-1).
3. No prospective claim i.e. claim for relief under ABVKY for any future period will be allowed.
4. The insured person will submit his/her claim to the designated branch office.
5. A link for generating the claim for Atal Beemit Kalyan Yojana will be given on the ESIC Portal.
6. The person will have to enter his/her insurance number, bank account number along with bank branch, Aadhaar number, the period of the claim, bank account details and the mobile number on the page the above-mentioned link opens.
7. The system after checking his eligibility will generate either (a) in case the person is eligible for relief under ABVKY the claim in form AB-1 along with a forwarding letter from his last employer in form AB-2 and instruction for the person, or, (b) in case the person is found not eligible, a regret message that the applicant is not eligible for relief.
8. The eligible person will take the printouts of the claim submitted above and the letter to the employer thus generated by the system and submit the duly signed claim in an affidavit along with required forwarding by the employer to his designated ESIC Branch Office.
9. Each claim thus generated will have an auto-generated unique ID number.
10. On receipt of the claim, the details as mentioned by the applicant will be checked in the system by the staff at the branch office under the supervision of the branch manager.
11. The system will calculate the claimant’s eligibility for relief under the scheme and its quantum for which the claimant is entitled based upon the details provided by the person as well as the contribution and other details available in the system.
12. The payment of the relief will be made to the applicant’s bank account.
