Amrut Senior Citizen Scheme is for Sr citizens above 75 years can now travel free in all MSRTC buses. The senior citizens above 75 years of age will get the facility of travelling in ST buses free of cost, including Shivneri buses, to mark Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava and Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) entering in 75th years of its existence.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde tweeted about the scheme on Friday. The tweet read, “Certificates of free travel scheme were distributed today to the senior citizens of the state above 75 years of age from ST. On the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of the country, about 1.5 lakh senior citizens of the state will get the benefit of free travel scheme by State Transport bus to the senior citizens above 75 years of age.”

देशाच्या अमृत महोत्सवानिमित्त राज्यातील 75 वर्षांवरील ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांना एसटी बसमधून मोफत प्रवास योजनेचा लाभ सुमारे 15 लाख ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांना होणार असून एसटीच्या शिवनेरीसह सर्व सेवांसाठी ही मोफत प्रवास योजना लागू असेल, असे मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे म्हणाले आहेत.

Moreover, the senior persons above the age of 65 years get 50 per cent concession in ST bus journey but now they would also get the facility of travelling in AC, sleeper coaches and Shivneri buses. The persons above 75 years of age will have to show aadhar card, pan card, election card, passport, driving license or identity card provided by the Central or State Governments to the conductor for availing the facility, informed Shekhar Channe, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, MSRTC.

MSRTC has registered 34, 88,000 smart cards of senior citizens. Of them 14, 69,000 cards are of persons above 75 years of age. The Chief Minister had announced during Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava on August 16 that persons of 75 years would get the facility of free travel but the scheme began now. He gave away certificates to senior citizens for free travel in ST buses to Anandi Gurav, Ramesh Khade, Vijay Aundhe, Babaji Chiplunkar and Chandramohan Parab. Annasaheb Tekale, Vice-President of Akhil Bharatiya Jyeshtha Nagarik Mahasangh, was present.

अमृत ज्येष्ठ नागरिक योजना : 75 वर्षांवरील नागरिकांचा मोफत प्रवास

1. स्वातंत्र्याच्या अमृत महोत्सवानिमित्त राज्यातील ७५ वर्षांवरील ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांना एसटीतून मोफत प्रवास योजनेला गेल्या शुक्रवारपासून (ता. २६) सुरुवात झाली.
2. या योजनेअंतर्गत 75 वर्षांवरील ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांना बसमधून प्रवासादरम्यान वाहक शून्य मूल्य वर्ग तिकीट देतील. विशेष म्हणजे मोफत प्रवासाची ही सवलत एस टीच्या सर्व सेवांसोबतच शिवनेरी बस सेवेसाठी देखील लागू असणार आहे,असे व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक चन्ने यांनी प्रास्ताविकात सांगितले.
3. आता ‘अमृत ज्येष्ठ नागरिक योजनेंतर्गत ७५ वर्षीय ज्येष्ठांना सर्व प्रकारच्या बसमध्ये मोफत प्रवास सवलत योजनेचा फायदा मिळायला सुरूवात झाली. यामुळे ज्येष्ठांना मोठा आधार मिळाला आहे.
4. “७५ वर्षे वयोगटावरील ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांना एसटीच्या सर्व सेवांमधून मोफत प्रवास सवलतीची अंमलबजावणी केली जात आहे. ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांनी प्रवासादरम्यान आधार, पॅन, निवडणूक ओळखपत्र, वाहन परवाना, केंद्र, राज्य शासनातर्फे देण्यात आलेले ओळखपत्र यापैकी कोणताही एक पुरावा वाहकाला दाखविल्यास ७५ वर्षांवरील ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांना मोफत प्रवास सवलत लागू आहे.”
5. सवलत योजनेची वैशिष्ट्ये: वातानुकुलीत, शयनयानसह सर्व सेवा प्रकारांमध्ये ही सवलत अनुज्ञेय आहे. 65 वर्षांवरील ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांना राज्य परिवहन महामंडळाच्या बससेवांमध्ये 50 टक्के सवलत मिळत आहे. आता वातानुकुलीत, शयनयान आणि शिवनेरी या उच्चश्रेणी सेवांनाही ही सवलत लागू होणार आहे.
6. 75 वर्षांवरील ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांना बसमधून मोफत प्रवासासाठी आधारकार्ड, पॅनकार्ड, वाहन परवाना, पारपत्र, निवडणूक ओळखपत्र व केंद्र आणि राज्य शासनातर्फे निर्गमित केलेले ओळखपत्र यापैकी कुठलेही एक ओळखपत्र वाहकाला दाखविल्यास शून्य मूल्य वर्गाचे तिकीट देऊन मोफत प्रवास करता येईल.

Required documents for Amrut Senior Citizen Scheme

1. The free travel facility can be availed by showing identity documents like Aadhaar Card, PAN card, driving licence, Voter’s Card etc, the release said.
2. It also added that this facility is not available for MSRTC’s city buses and will be for journeys within state limits.
