FSSAI License Apply Online

We see the FSSAI License Apply Online process here briefly. FSSAI is the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, which oversees and operates the food business in India. It is an autonomous body established under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. FSSAI launched Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS) wef 01st June 2020 replacing existing Food Licensing and Registration System. Every food business operator involved in the production, processing, storage, distribution and sale of food must obtain FSSAI registration or license.

Manufacturers [including Repackers and Relabellers] and Importers shall submit Annual Returns for FY 2021-22 latest by 31st May 2022. Submission of Annual Returns only through online mode on FoSCoS portal will be considered.

FSSAI ही भारतीय अन्न सुरक्षा आणि मानक प्राधिकरण आहे, जी भारतातील अन्न व्यवसायावर देखरेख आणि संचालन करते. ही भारत सरकारच्या आरोग्य आणि कुटुंब कल्याण मंत्रालयाच्या अंतर्गत स्थापन केलेली स्वायत्त संस्था आहे. खाद्यपदार्थांचे उत्पादन, प्रक्रिया, साठवण वितरण आणि विक्रीमध्ये गुंतलेल्या प्रत्येक खाद्य व्यवसाय ऑपरेटरने FSSAI नोंदणी किंवा परवाना अनिवार्यपणे प्राप्त करणे आवश्यक आहे. FSSAI नोंदणी ही FSSAI परवान्यापेक्षा वेगळी आहे कारण व्यवसायाचा आकार आणि स्वरूप यावर अवलंबून FBO ने आवश्यक नोंदणी किंवा परवाना मिळवावा.

Types of FSSAI Registration

FSSAI registration is based on business type, turnover and productivity. Depending on the installed capacity and turnover, FBOs are eligible for licenses such as Basic License, Central License and State License.

1. FSSAI Basic Registration – FBOs having a turnover of less than Rs.12 lakh p.a must obtain FSSAI basic registration. The FSSAI registration form that the applicant has to fill to obtain FSSAI basic registration is Form A.
2. FSSAI State License – FBOs having a turnover of more than Rs.12 lakh p.a and less than Rs.20 crore p.a must obtain the FSSAI state license. The FSSAI registration form that the applicant has to fill to obtain an FSSAI state license is Form B.
3. FSSAI Central License – FBOs having a turnover of more than Rs.20 crore p.a must obtain the FSSAI central license. The FSSAI registration form that the applicant has to fill to obtain FSSAI central license is Form- B.

Required Documents FSSAI Registration or License

For FSSAI Basic license

1. Photo identity proof of the food business operators.
2. Business constitution certificate, i.e. partnership deed, certificate of incorporation, shop and establishment licence or other business registration certificate.
3. Proof of possession of business premises, i.e. rental agreement, NOC from the owner of the rented premises, utility bills etc.
4. Food safety management system plan.
5. List of food products manufactured or processed.
6. Bank account information.
7. Supporting documents (if required) like NOC by Municipality or Panchayat, Health NOC, copy of License from the manufacturer, etc.

For FSSAI state license

1. Form B duly completed and signed
2. Plan of the processing unit showing the dimensions and operation-wise area allocation
3. List of Directors/ Partners/ Proprietor with address, contact details, and photo ID
4. Name and list of equipment and machinery used with the number and installed capacity
5. Authority letter from manufacturer nominated a responsible person name and address
6. Analysis report of water to be used in the process to confirm the portability
7. Copy of certificate obtained under Coop Act 1861/Multi-State Coop Act 2002

For FSSAI central license:

1. Form B duly completed and signed
2. Plan of the processing unit showing the dimensions and operation-wise area allocation
3. List of Directors/ Partners/ Proprietor with address, contact details, and photo ID
4. Name and list of equipment and machinery used with the number and installed capacity
5. Authority letter from manufacturer nominated a responsible person name and address
6. Analysis report of water to be used in the process to confirm the portability
7. Source of raw material for milk, meat etc
8. Recall plan wherever applicable
9. Ministry of Commerce Certificate for 100% EOU
10. NOC/PA document issued by FSSAI
11. IE code document issued by DGFT
12. Form IX
13. Certificate from Ministry of Tourism
14. Supporting document for proof of turnover and transportation
15. Declaration form

Fees Structure of FSSAI Registration

The applicant / FBO will have to pay a fee while submitting the FSSAI registration form. The FSSAI registration fee for different types of registration is as under:

1. FSSAI Basic Registration – Fee of Rs.100
2. FSSAI State License – Fee between Rs.2,500 to Rs.5,000 (Depends on the type of business carried out)
3. FSSAI Central License – Fee of Rs.7,500

Renewal Process of FSSAI License

The FSSAI license is essential to commence the food business, similarly, it is imperative to renew the license. The license is issued for a validity of 1 year or 5 years, so the business must apply for renewal 30 days prior to the expiry of the current license.

FSSAI License Apply Online

1. User can log in by clicking on the box “Apply for License/Registration Fee:
   Rs.100 to 7500 per year” as shown their.
2. Select option as per user requirement.
3. Select the State and Read the Note and Read the Group Heads of Kind of Business,
4. Click on Kind of Business under which the food business falls, user can read
   the definition of all Kind of Business under it and click on the radio button under it to
   proceed further
5. Fill in all the mandatory fields as shown in Form A.
6. Upload the documents, pay the fee with available modes and apply
7. After completing the payment, a receipt will be generated with a 17-digit reference
   number which can be used for future reference.
8. User can track the status of application through the Homepage i.e. foscos.fssai.gov.in by using the reference number.
